Zoo Negara in Ampang is a proper institution, home to thousands of animals across open, walkable grounds -- including the celebrity giant pandas. There's a lot of ground to cover, so it's real outdoor time: bring water, wear a hat, and let the kids set the pace between the elephants, big cats and the panda house. Affordable, memorable, and the kind of day that sticks in childhood memories.
